Supplier and producer’s provenance

Gather & Gather work in support of local producers and are proud to offer a menu which incorporates locally grown produce as part of the OXBA Dinner.

Working with local traders not only allows them to give back to the community we operate in, but also minimises their carbon footprint, allowing the Earth to continue to provide us with the sustenance we serve to you today.

Coffee
Jericho Coffee Traders
The opportunity came in 2009 when JCT saw a beautiful Vespa 'tuk-tuk' for sale at the side of the road, and thought: "That needs a coffee machine on the back of it!". So they became the proud new owners of a 49cc Italian trike! And Jericho Coffee Traders was born. Fast forward to today, and they've added three premises in Oxford - the High Street espresso bar, Cafe at the Castle, and the Cafe & Roastery - all serving delicious espresso and filter coffees accompanied by locally made pastries and cakes.

Fruits and Vegetables
Rectory Farm

The farmland is sandy at the top (by the PYO fields) but heavy clay at the bottom. Perfect for Asparagus which thrive in free-draining sandy soil, and so the asparagus in this menu has been grown in the sandiest land (close to the appropriately named Sandhills area of Oxford). All crops are conventionally grown, using plant protection programmes to produce the very best quality crop. Using a network of underground irrigation pipes across the farm which deliver water from storage irrigation reservoirs to potatoes, strawberries and raspberries.
