LAST year waste management company Grundon won the county’s top large business award. This time round at the Oxfordshire Business Awards the Benson‐based waste management firm is still thinking big. But it has chosen to enter a different category, the Oxfordshire Apprenticeships Apprenticeship of the Year Award.

Star winner aims for another prize victory

Former winner of hit TV show The Apprentice Lee McQueen likes nothing better than coming first. The company boss, who runs Raw Talent Academy, which specialises in recruitment and training in sales, is hoping his winning ways will continue in this year’s Oxfordshire Business Awards.

Retailers invited to try for new Business Awards prize

RETAILERS could be walking away with an honour next year as the Oxfordshire Business Awards expand. Awards Chairman Paul Lowe, Operations Director of Darbys Solicitors LLP, said a Retail Award had been discussed for some years but there had been a lack of sponsors. But for 2015, the Awards’ 21st year, Inchcape Mercedes Benz will sponsor the inaugural retail prize.

Celebrating the very best in the busines

FATHER and son celebrated together after their company was voted the Oxfordshire Business of the Year. Alec Hammond, chairman of Oxford Products, looked on proudly as son Andrew was also awarded the title Oxfordshire Business Person of the Year, making it a double success for the family-run Witney firm which sells cycle and motorcycle accessories across the world.

Eclectic line-up shortlisted for premier annual awards

THE shortlist for the county’s top business competition has been unveiled revealing the strength in depth of the local economy. A total of 42 companies and individuals have made the shortlist in the Oxfordshire Business Awards, across 15 categories, with the winners being named at a ceremony next month. And it promises to be an even more special occasion with the awards celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
